David Avisar
Judaica Fine Art Painting

David Avisar is a Hassidic painter living in Beit Shemesh. He grew up in a suburb of Tel Aviv and served as a paratrooper in the Israel Defence Forces. After his military service, he worked as a tour guide in the Sinai dessert and very inspired by the beautiful landscape which greatly influenced his artwork.

Avisar studied at the Art Academy in Ramat HaSharon. He continued his studies at the Kefar Art Academy in the Artist Village in Ein Hod where he was strongly influenced by the renowned artist Marcel Janko.

In the late 1980's, David returned to his roots and became an observant Hassidic Jew. His paintings have been greatly influenced by his Jewish spirituality. Subjects depicted in his works include Biblical Stories such as Abraham and the angels, Ruth and the Akedah. They also depict scenes from Shabbat (Sabbath), Jerusalem, Redemption, Prayer and Faith.
