Mezuzahs are traditionally placed on the doorposts of a Jewish home. They consist of some kind of box or “beit mezzuzah” and inside is placed a prayer scroll hand-written by a Jewish scribe on parchment. The blessing that is written on the scroll is the “Shema” which is the prayer which declares the oneness of G-d.
