Rosh Hashanah

Rosh HaShanah – Jewish New Year begins on the first day of the Jewish month of Tishrei and lasts for two days. Rosh HaShanah celebrates the creation of the world and is marked by a full prayer service in the synagogue for two days, the blowing of the ram’s horn, or “shofar” and festive meals. During the festive meal many symbolic foods are eaten, the most popular being apples and honey to usher in a sweet new year, however, other symbolic foods are also eaten such as pomegranates, dates, beets, carrots, beans and even a fish head.

We have chosen items that are suitable as Rosh HaShanah gifts to take to friends and family who have invited you to celebrate with them. As with other Jewish holidays it is customary to set a beautiful table for the festive meals on this holiday and there is always room for more special Rosh Hashanah gifts and holiday items on the table.

Jewelry is also a great gift for Rosh HaShanah. Click here to see our jewelry section.
